Great place if you're renting, avoid at all costs if you're thinking of buying a place.
Very quiet and relaxing day at the beach. The water is Port Royal Sound, so not on the Atlantic, but just as restful. No big waves, perfect for small children or older couples. The low tide goes way out, for a huge beach area, then high tide comes back later in the day and early morning. The condo we stayed in was 1222 and a very nice 2 bedrooms and a comfortable air mattress plus 2 full bathrooms, included new stainless appliances, washer and dryer, even beach chairs, umbrella and sand toys. Each unit is unique to the owners. There are also 2 outdoor pools and 1 inside pool. Downside is no elevator, so if you go to the 2nd or 3rd floor, it's a lot of steps. Just be prepared. It's also an older condo area, but maintained very nicely. Great place to enjoy the outdoors. We booked with HomeAway. We will come back!
The amenities are wonderful, as well, but the most unique feature of The Spa is its serene beauty and deep quiet. I would not trade this special place for any other on the island.
Our condo was great! The place was very clean. Nice pools, indoor and outdoor. Wonderful wildlife area. Beach has lots of crabs and birds. Not great for swimming but great for relaxing and exploring tide pools. Great proximity for bird watching!
The Spa on Port Royal Sound is much like Nature’s Paradise. You ARE located on water, in between 2 Nature Preserves, so there can be no building on either side of this beautiful enclave. There is so much to see here and you are only minutes away from the activities on the island.
